Swift water rescue
In swift water technical rope rescue, the ResQmax™ line thrower deploys a rope or messenger line across a river or stream, or an auto-inflating sling and buoyant rescue line to a victim in the water.

Developed to help fire departments and SAR teams meet NFPA 1006 and NFPA 1670, the ResQmax™ puts a line or an auto-inflating sling exactly where it is needed – while the rescuer stays safe on shore, on a bridge or on deck.

In swift water technical rope rescue, the ResQmax™ line thrower deploys a rope or messenger line across a river or stream, or an auto-inflating sling and buoyant rescue line to a victim in the water.

Rip tides and under-tows are unpredictable and can carry an unwary swimmer away from shore very quickly. The ResQmax™ deploys an auto-inflating sling that keeps the swimmer afloat while they are pulled to safety – throwing an 8 mm water rescue line up to 300 ft in a matter of seconds, without putting the rescuer at risk.

Keeping the rescuer safe is crucial when someone has fallen through the ice. From land and a safe distance, the ResQmax™ throws a rescue line – or a rescue line and auto-inflating sling – to the victim without putting the rescuer “on thin ice”.

At sea, visual contact with a person overboard is lost almost immediately – even in daylight, and far faster in bad weather or darkness. Instead of waiting for a rescue craft, the ResQmax™ delivers an auto-inflating sling and retrieval line to the victim in seconds, dramatically reducing recovery time and the risk of hypothermia in northern waters.

When victims are stranded in otherwise inaccessible places, the ResQmax™ establishes the first vertical line and gives rescuers a rapid ascent through rough, steep terrain. It is also used for the emergency evacuation of chairlifts, gondolas and construction sites.
